The Patsy
King Vidor, Silent, (1928) 78 mins
Screening Sunday 14th 6pm €15

A wonderfully witty silent film by one of the great masters of American cinema. It stars Marion Davies, a natural comedienne who was rarely allowed to do comedy by her controlling partner William Randolph Hearst (a relationship later parodied in Orson Welles' Citizen Kane). The film is a real delight, brimming with smarts and full of memorable one-liners that will stick in your head long after you have left the cinema.
